The Birthday Cake Chronicles

(Or, What it Means to Be a Regular)

This is NOT my birthday cake. It’s Red Gate’s most recent weekend special (June 20). But a photo the top of a post is supposed to entice readers, right? Tasted like strawberries, on a summer evenin’… actually no, it tasted better; there was rhubarb in there too, along with vanilla custard cream, all sandwiched between layers of brown sugar cake. It captured that fleeting moment of solstice when spring turns to summer.
