Cinnamania!
In the era of the cinnamon roll, here's one that might not be on your radar... but should be
Cinnamon rolls are forever. They are also the moment—in New York City, that is. Novelty flavors are putting in appearances at popular coffee shops, collaboration rolls are aplenty and, as of last month, the East Village is now home to a bakery dedicated exclusively to the pastry. I’ve done my fair share of (strictly professional) research, and I can say with full authority, the competition is fierce. And while it’s too versatile a classic to delineate one clear winner, there are certainly a hefty number gunning for the title, many of them given an edge by their popularity on social media.
As a contributor to the social media scene myself, I pay attention to these matters, especially as they relate to my personal pursuit of pleasure; of course it would pique my interest to learn of a roll that wasn’t on everyone’s radar. (Score!) So, back in December, when Nina Rosenblatt, owner of the cottage bakery Cinnamania!, generously DM-ed me with an offer to deliver a batch of her homemade rolls, I accepted.
